Posing another big one tomorrow, but I don't have everything I need for it so it will have to wait.

Till then, here's a beautiful boy-child I saw on the bus

The funniest thing I've read all week
You should really read that- especially if you've ever played any incarnation of the Sims

Drowsy man.
I Especially liked his eyesockets.

Listening to the Velvet Underground.
Forgot how much I love their album with Nico.
That woman was something else.

I got some great new headphones but now I can't find my MP3 player.

Durrr.

I've also decided to unlock my journal- I feel like an idiot locking everything.

The night before last I had a dream about Dax Riggs- I dreamed I had convinced him to come over and hang out even though we'd never met- mainly for Hunter's birthday- He showed up and was really awesome and we were drinking a beer and kicking up our heels and I was like "Hunter look what I found!" and he shrugged and just didn't care, which is- lol- NOT what would happen. (he thought this dream was pretty funny too)
But then we (Dax and I) just decided to hang out and smoke a joint and watch the sky and it was really great.
I never dream about famous people, and oddly in this dream everyone looked like who they were, though the house was all different.
It was very vivid, and very very cool- since on that invisible list of "people I'd like to hang out with but will never get the chance" that we all have, he's at the top.

I <3 dreams.

I recently finished my newest art progect- It's another jellyfish but this one is made out of industrial bits and lenses:

All in all I'm fairly pleased.

Also, I've been learning to knit, which I'm godawful at for the moment, but at least I'm faster than I was 2 days ago.
I have about 4 inches of a terribly made scarf to show for all my hard work ATM, but it's still oddly gratifying- I feel like knitting is one of those primal things that we should all pretty much know how to basically do- like making fire or baking bread.

Oh, and I got my book in the mail last week- it's bloody GREAT and I'm very pleased with the color reproduction- I don't have it right now (loaned it to a coworker) but when I do I'll post the obligitory "here's me and my book" photo.

Until that glorious moment, here's some awesome new photos, that will be in next year's edition.

Oh Portlanders )

This lady was falling asleep the way that little kids do- sagging over with apparently no control then jerking back awake.
I took some great video of her but me and T-mobile are working on getting it to function, so I don't have it yet.

Also there's some other photos of other awesome people.

Took a pretty gnarly fall this weekend- 1am pissed at the cat and trying to carry her to her perch cause she's keeping us awake growling- it's pitch black- the trap door is open and I walk right onto nothing like Wiley Coyote going over a cliff then looking down and realizing there's nothing there. I fall 4 feet onto concrete & wood stairs. Giant abrasions on my hip and elbow, twisted ankle, fucked up neck, and some frantic cat scratches.
Really really really glad I'm not in a coma.

But my frown turned utterly upside-down when I got a surprise package from [info]icarus_fell this weekend. It was like getting stictches then going out for ice cream.
Totally, awesomely, well timed.
Zebra clips, a whoopee cushion, glowsticks (which came in handy when we spent the night pounding beers with friends), a cute little blank book, pill-sponge expando animals (I dunno what they're called), a little stuffed bear, and more. It was grand.

anyway, PHOTOS!

EDIT:
Gory photos of my bruises now included

Photography law

Ok, so, awhile back, my thoughtful coworker Jim gave me some defamation law information, and I got really worried that my photography was a violation of some kind- (that's why I f-locked my flickr) but according to this and this it's not- and it doesn't seem like it would be, since they mention stuff like videotaping police brutality, or just basically being able to take a photo in public without worrying if it's illegal.
What I'm a little on the fence about at this point is my descriptions. I doubt that the line between legal and illegal would be so fine, but I'm concerned about the commentary, since I do sometimes offer an opinion about the subject. Is that defamation?

This goes over it to some degree but not to my satisfaction, and not in a way I feel totally clear about.

More reading will be happening today on the subject- but any thoughts you might have are appreciated.
Anyone have any lawyer relatives?

I want to know if I can ever share these photos or whether they will be friendslocked forever.
